Happy Saturday

I know today isn't Saturday, but this past Saturday was a really great day. I joined in with the VMQG at Quilt by the Bay, one of  their all day retreats put on by Krista. In beautiful Lion's Bay BC, I spent 12 hours in front of my sewing machine. The only interruptions were food, conversation with new friends and the occasional leg stretch.

I worked on a bee block for Charlotte

Charlotte's block

Made binding for a quilt I haven't made yet

Proverbial Binding

Made and machine stitched the binding on 3 farmer's wife potholders.

FW poptholders

Got a great start on my Out to Sea quilt. Super simple blocks - it doesn't get much easier than 3.5" squares made up into 16 patches.

Out to Sea

A stack of partial blocks.

More Out to Sea

It's been so long since I've been to an all day retreat, that I'd forgotten just how much can be accomplished when you just sit down and sew. No lunch or dinner to make. No laundry to fold, no dishes to wash.

When's the next one????
