I always wanted to be in a quilt bee. It just looked like so much fun. The chance to get to know a group of people, to sew for them and then to come out of it with half a quilt's worth of blocks was just too much for me to pass up. I'm in three bees right now, which I've decided is probably enough, especially when combined with all the swaps I've done lately. Strangely enough, I never seem to be sewing for myself these days......
There are two queen bees each month in the
Gone Quiltin' Bee and for May, I'm one of them. I chose a very simple blue and white churn dash block, which will eventually be part of a quilt for my mom, who picked out the fabrics. It's always a happy mail day when your blocks start to roll in!
You've been a very busy bee. ;) I love the fabrics that you chose for Megan's block...but they all look great!
ReplyDeleteBees are so addicting. I had to take a pause on signing up because I didn't have time to do much else. It was a good break and now I'm back, clicking on the sign up buttons again and again. I love all your choices and blocks.
ReplyDeleteSuch great blocks, love all those colours ! I have yet to join a bee...maybe one day! =D
ReplyDeleteKatie - these blocks are so pretty! I love your fabric choices.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to sew something for yourself soon, you deserve that after all the hard work you're doing making such beautiful blocks.
I love your blocks!!
ReplyDeleteChurn dash is one of my favourites, it'll be a lovely quilt for your mum :)
Gosh! They are soooo pretty! Bees do sound like a lot of fun and are great ways to try something new.
ReplyDeletebeautiful bee blocks! And yeah - you kind of have to watch how many you join, to be sure...
ReplyDeleteOooh, love the blocks. Definitely crushing on that Mondrian though - wow!
