You've Got Mail

Ok maybe you don't have mail, but I do!! After waiting anxiously for several weeks, my pouch from the Pretty {lilttle} Pouch Swap finally arrived! I can't tell you how happy am I to receive this particular bag. Not only is it made with linen and beautiful hand stitched hearts, check out those twisted cathedral windows!! Really a great looking block, and bag! It's big too, I can slip a couple of magazines in there, and maybe, just maybe I can convince my husband that now I need an iPad.......ha! My partner really did her research, adding some very thoughtful goodies for me too!

Pretty {little} Pouch Swap RECEIVED!!!

I would have been happy enough if the good mail had stopped there, but there was more! I recently (finally) decided to make a Farmer's Wife sampler quilt, and today the book came in the mail. Even if you aren't planning to make the quilt, the book seems to be a great resource with 111 6" traditional block patterns. I see some Farmer's Wife potholders coming up soon!

The final bit of mailbox goodness, was a churn dash block from Mary in the Gone Quiltin' Bee. The blue and white blocks will be a quilt for my mother, who selected the fabrics.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a happy dance to do!

  1. What a beautiful bag! Those cathedral windows are amazing! I've been debating getting the farmers wife book for over a year now, but I know I will never make them all. I do like the idea of using the blocks for other projects though. I think you've moved me one step closer to buying it. I can't wait to see which blocks you make!

  8. I got that same book this week! I am looking forward to making the blocks. I would love to make them all, but probably should go slowly and finish other projects I have going in between :)
