The Handmade Parade

TheHandmadeParade

Lately in blogland I've seen more and more people embracing some type of hand stitching. Whether it's quilting, applique, piecing or embroidery, there's a lot of it out there! At times it feels like those of us who hand stitch are stitching away in some dark corner of the internet where no one pays us much attention. I want to change all

that by giving hand stitchers a place to find each other and show off what they've been working on!  Who better to appreciate all your hand work than other hand stitchers?

Starting next Friday, that's May 18th, I'll be hosting a weekly linky party on my blog, for hand stitched items.I'm calling it "The Handmade Parade". Now of course they don't have to be entirely hand stitched, a row of hand quilting as an embellishment or a hand appliqued bird/flower/fish/shoe/car/whatever definitely qualify as hand stitched. The idea is to show of your hand work skills! Given the slower pace of hand stitching, works in progress are most welcome to join the party.

I want to get the word out that hand stitching is here, it's a lot of fun, and it's here to stay! I've created a button for you to use when linking up to the weekly party. It's in my sidebar for you to grab! It would also look pretty snazzy in

your sidebar...... :-) If you're so inclined to promote this idea on your blog before hand, I'd love it.

Thanks for sharing your time and talents with all of us in blogland, and I hope to see you back here next Friday around 9AM EST.

  13. Oh wow...just in time. I have been hand-quilting my first quilt project these past 2 weeks and am loving it. I have added your button to my side bar. I have just started my own first linky called 'Sunday Stash' for displaying what fabrics, books, notions have caught your eye each week. Love to have my first joiners too. Cheers.
