WIP Wednesday

I've spent a good part of the past week working on my projects for both the Wild Olive Stitch Swap and the Covert Robin. They have now both been sent off to their new owners. I hope they enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them.
I dug out a long forgotten project and now it's nearly complete. All I need is some solid grey for the front. Here's the back of a double bed sized quilt for my 13 year old son. I haven't made the poor child a quilt since he was 3. The poor child has had to make do with store bought blankets!

Harrison's Backing

I loved the way the railing behind the quilt looked, so I took another picture. My mind was working overtime on this one, I love the pattern!

I also started a scarf for my daughter Pickles. She's been asking for one since I finished mine a couple of weeks ago.

  1. Great quilt. I like the play of the shadows too. Little girls need new things all the time - I had 3 and I loved to make them things.

  2. A handsome quilt indeed! I always love the way sunlight plays through the fabric and seams of a quilt top - an effect that is gone once the quilt is layered and quilted. The pink varigations of the scarf looks to be just the thing for a girl!

  5. I like your blog header. When I saw the thumb nail photo I wondered if you had cut alternate squares on the bias. It is a smashing effect!

  9. If that's just the back of the quilt, I can't wait to see the front!

  11. I LOVE the rail shadow on the quilt that is really great. May be an idea for quilting it. Aw the scarf is so cute. I love when my kids ask me to make things for them. Did you make the placemat under the scarf? That looks really nice too from what I can see. Love the fabrics
