Blogger's Quilt Festival

Amy's Creative Side

It's Blogger's Quilt Festival time and I am thrilled to be able to share my Winterkist quilt (again!) Seriously, this quilt is like one of my children, and showing it off? Never. Gets. Old.

Gnoma Love

I made this quilt as part of the Winterkist Blog Hop, a bloggy party I organized in the summer to promote the release of Monica Solorio-Snow's new fabric line called Winterkist. Because the quilt was kind of a headliner, I wanted it to be really special. I knew I'd need some needleturn applique, embroidery and LOTS of hand quilting.

almost there!

The quilt is 42" square and was made entirely by me and my trusty little Husqvarna. It's machine pieced, hand appliqued, hand embroidered and hand quilted. Let me just say, that by the time it was finished, my hand was sore! I really am in love with it though, so it was all worth it.

  4. I absolutely love the close-up of your hand quilting. Your stitches are just gorgeous. It's a nice reminder that I really do want to take the time to learn to hand quilt properly. This really is a lovely little quilt and I think your design is a perfect match for the fabric.
