This week I spent time finishing up the remaining three blocks for the handpieced quilt along. I think altogether I did the blocks over six weeks. I'm not sure I'd want to try doing them any faster. There's a lot of marking involved, which I think it really the most boring and tedious part of the job, but when it's done while watching Netflix on the computer it's not too bad. I started watching Twin Peaks which I loved back in the day. Marian reminded me what an interesting/strange/quirky/dark show it is and now I'm hooked. If only I could remember who killed Laura Palmer......
Shoo Fly.
Bear's Paw
Card Trick
All twelve finished!
And seriously, what I think is the most beautiful thing ever....the backs of all twelve blocks.
Now it's your turn to show off your projects!
I just ask a few things of you:
1. link only projects with some handstitching
2. link to a specific post
3. use the linky party button (found in my sidebar) in your post, so others can easily find the party and join in
4. visit other Handmade Parade partiers
.....and go!
No hand-sewing for me this month except bindings...but I do admire your blocks!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get any hand stitching done this week, but definitely will next week. Your blocks are coming along nicely - really like card trick. I'll have to check out twin peaks. I started watching Crossing Jordan and am about 1/3 the way through. I am a total netflix addict while crafting/cleaning.
ReplyDeleteI just posted my handsewing to flickr (I don't have a blog). Can I link to my photo here? I started handsewing a little over a month ago. I jumped into a Grandmother's Garden project two weeks ago and have finished the rings for 46 hexi flowers. I'm trying to decide what to do with the centers and whether to add a path through them. I would love opinions. Thanks, Caryn
ReplyDeleteAlso... I'm Caryn211 on flickr if anyone would Like to see how things are coming along. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, this is going to be a very smashing quilt. Luv everything about it!
ReplyDeleteAs it's day one of this month no hand sewing here =(
ReplyDeleteLoving your blocks, such great bursts of colour =D
Gorgeous! I didn't do this QAL but I'm tempted! :)
ReplyDelete*gasp* it's gorgeous!!!! I've never tried to piece a quilt block before, do you have a tutorial to look at?
ReplyDeleteI just gave a lap quilt that I hand quilted. Your hand pieced blocks are lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe blocks look great. It's going to be a very pretty quilt.
ReplyDeleteI've been busy finishing up at work for the last two weeks, ready to move on Wed, so no time to sew. But hopefully I'll be able to join the parade again next wee.
