Parade Day

Another week has gone by already. Funny how time seems to move faster near the start of summer. I've been really busy this week, trying to finish up a few things. My project for Purse Palooza is finally done and ready to go. Don't forget to check out Sara's blog every weekday in June for a great purse/bag/wallet post. My day is June 15th!

This week I spent time finishing up the remaining three blocks for the handpieced quilt along. I think altogether I did the blocks over six weeks. I'm not sure I'd want to try doing them any faster. There's a lot of marking involved, which I think it really the most boring and tedious part of the job, but when it's done while watching Netflix on the computer it's not too bad. I started watching Twin Peaks which I loved back in the day. Marian reminded me what an interesting/strange/quirky/dark show it is and now I'm hooked. If only I could remember who killed Laura Palmer......

All twelve finished!

All 12 Done

And seriously, what I think is the most beautiful thing ever....the backs of all twelve blocks.

Showing Their Backsides

Now it's your turn to show off your projects!

I just ask a few things of you:
1. link only projects with some handstitching
2. link to a specific post
3. use the linky party button (found in my sidebar) in your post, so others can easily find the party and join in
4. visit other Handmade Parade partiers
.....and go!

  2. I didn't get any hand stitching done this week, but definitely will next week. Your blocks are coming along nicely - really like card trick. I'll have to check out twin peaks. I started watching Crossing Jordan and am about 1/3 the way through. I am a total netflix addict while crafting/cleaning.

  3. I just posted my handsewing to flickr (I don't have a blog). Can I link to my photo here? I started handsewing a little over a month ago. I jumped into a Grandmother's Garden project two weeks ago and have finished the rings for 46 hexi flowers. I'm trying to decide what to do with the centers and whether to add a path through them. I would love opinions. Thanks, Caryn

  10. The blocks look great. It's going to be a very pretty quilt.
I've been busy finishing up at work for the last two weeks, ready to move on Wed, so no time to sew. But hopefully I'll be able to join the parade again next wee.
