Modern Mini Challenge

Modern Mini Challenge

Like many others, I was excited about the Modern Mini Challenge. Not only are the prizes fantastic, but it was a chance to work on something just a bit different. I'm generally a semi modern quilter. What I mean is, I love modern fabrics (hello solids!) and more traditional patterns. This little quilt was inspired by my love of colour wheels, I've seen some beautiful spectrum quilts lately. I rarely give my quilts a name, but I thought this one deserved one. I called it "The Centre of Attention". I'm not a huge fan of the colour red, although I'm trying. Red always seems to stand out, like it's trying to grab all the attention. I thought I might as well highlight it, put it right out there where it want to be! That's what I like about a mini, I feel free to do things I'd never consider on a larger scale. This is a mini-mini-mini, just 10.5" square, hand appliqued and machine quilted.

  1. I love your Mini! I'm a big fan of spectrum quilts too, but I'm trying to be comfortable using solids. (I did manage some for my Mini though.) I see you're doing the Covert Robin...me too! Good luck in the MM challenge!
