Pickles and the Elfies

I had hoped to have this embroidered Elfies pillow finished in time for Christmas, but since I didn't work on it, it didn't get done. I guess sometimes you have to do more than hope. Huh. Who knew? The pattern is from Jenny Harris who has the cutest blog for when you need a dose of bright and cheerful.

Elfies Pillow

Here is Pickles, whose name obviously isn't really Pickles, but it's what I call her. Other people call her Macy. When Pickles was little she always asked why I called her Honey, Sugar, Pumpkin, Cupcake or Cookie. I told her that they were sweet, just like her. Ok maybe pumpkins aren't terribly sweet, but well, she was chubby like a pumpkin. So after much discussion, it was decided I should call her Pickles, because she liked pickles better than any of those things. So, Pickles she is!

New Apron!

Pickles now has a new apron, made from a Heather Bailey pattern with Children at Play  fabric. The pattern is for adults, so it's not quite a perfect fit for a ten year old, but she is really pleased with it. She wore it to school the day after it was finished so she could show it off. I now have two orders from teachers to make them their own!

  4. I have a love-hate relationship with that Heather Bailey pattern! I've made it a few times now, and there's something aabout the band that joins the bodice and skirt that drives me insane!
I keep going back for more though because it turns out so darn cute - yours is just adorable!

  5. Adorable pillow and super-cute apron! Pickles is a little cutie, too! When I was her age, I could eat an insane amount of pickles! I don't eat them often now, but I have a daughter who lives the legacy. :-) Thanks for sharing your projects!

  9. Pickles and her apron are too cute! I had to comment because my mom's nickname as a child was Picklepuss. Pickles made me smile and think of mom.
